Cold Laser Therapy & Phovia Wound Treatment in Arlington, TX
Gentle, Non-Drug Treatments That Help Pets Heal
Park Plaza Animal Clinic offers two light-based therapies that support healing without surgery or extra medication. Cold laser therapy helps relieve pain and inflammation. Phovia helps wounds, incisions and skin infections heal. Both are painless, and most pets relax during treatment.
Cold Laser Therapy (Pain & Inflammation)
Therapeutic laser, also called cold laser or photobiomodulation, uses focused light to reach tissue below the skin. The light energy helps reduce inflammation, ease pain and support the body’s own healing.
Cold laser therapy can help with:
- Arthritis and hip dysplasia
- Back and neck pain
- Sprains, strains and other soft tissue injuries
- Healing after surgery
- Ear and skin inflammation
- Lick granulomas and slow-healing wounds
What a session is like
Your pet rests on a padded table while the laser wand is moved over the treatment area. Sessions take only a few minutes, need no sedation or shaving, and most pets feel a gentle warmth. Many owners notice their pet moving more comfortably after a few treatments.
Phovia Wound Treatment (Wound / Incision)
Phovia is a fluorescent light energy system. A special gel is applied to the wound and lit with an LED lamp, which turns the light into fluorescent energy that helps the skin repair itself.
Phovia can help with:
- Wounds and lacerations
- Surgical incisions
- Hot spots
- Deep skin infections, including between the toes
- Slow-healing or recurring skin problems
What a session is like
Each treatment takes a few minutes per area, is completely painless and requires no sedation. Most pets need a short series of treatments, and many owners see faster healing and less itching along the way.
